Dev made two promises they couldn't keep. Kinda sucks ngl.

EDIT: Imagine defending a literal crime. You are all what's wrong with the gaming industry.

(-1)

?? Crime??? Tf are you on about? 😀

The real crime here is the ones who try to attack him and stole his game for many times. Nacho already stated so many times that he DIDN'T KNOW about the rules before promising Steam keys and itch.io refund, he admitted his mistakes. Lots of people here also can't even understand the difference between update and remake even if the Steam version didn't went as much as we expected. Why are you calling us who tried to defend him like defending a literal crime? You literally acted like he's in a big company that's scamming you when the reality he's an indie dev who tried to figure things out and worked hard for his game ALONE. Give him a break.

Go touch some grass if you can't even understand his mistakes and the situation. Nachosama is a great developer but some people like you is the reason he discouraged to continue TNMN and his other projects, you clearly don't care about his situation and you only care about the game. Well done for upsetting the real fans of TNMN! 👏👏👏

promising something in exchange for a purchase and not giving a refund when you can't deliver is a crime.

(1 edit)

Dude, how many times should i tell you that his mistakes are ACCIDENTAL??? He didn't do it on purpose, he didn't do much research before he promised the Steam key and refunds, he admitted it and he APOLOGIZED. It's something he couldn't control now and the only way to fix it is giving the discount on Steam price when it was released for a week or ask Nachosama for a Steam key if he still have it.

I think i should just stop talking to you, the amount of downvote on your comment already says it all. Imagine how much the dev must endure during all of this hate and negativity he's facing, no wonder he's now discouraged to continue TNMN because we CAN'T literally have nice things for a moment and people literally pushed him and didn't give him a break.

I mean something can be a mistake and accidental and still be a crime.

like image you're driving and you end up hitting a kid walking in the road.

Most children you can't see while they're walking, but it'd still be a crime even if it was an accident.

That crime is vehicular manslaughter, if the kid died

Nonetheless, not keeping a promise is not a crime, unless a part of a legal contract.

in which there was never promise in a legal contract for the creator to give us a remake for free

Hi, your graphics card has to be compatible with vulkan, seems like it doesn't.

I know there is a way to run the game anyways, look at the steam discussions, I saw someone explaine it how to do it.

People… the game on Steam, while it's the same core gameplay, is completely redone. See it as a sequel or a remake if you will. Also, the itch version is not going anywhere.

Also also the game's like $3. And it was heavily discounted. Actually complaining about it costs yourself more of your time than the game itself.

(+2)(-3)

I'm more annoyed they promised a free steam key, which they couldn't deliver on. Then promised refunds, which they also couldn't deliver on. This is absolutely false advertising and they're just taking the money.

(+2)(-2)

The systems in place don't allow for that. They overpromised, yes, but have their hands tied as much as anyone else. And people bashing on the "incredible expense" of $3 despite the situation being out of the hand of the dev really should put things into perspective.

(+3)(-3)

I would like to start this by saying that if the developer literally cannot give out enough free keys then it is a bad situation for him and the players. With that said however. I've been a developer on plenty of itch.io and steam products. You can usually get an indefinite amount of steam keys as long as you communicate with steam how many keys you need and for what purpose. So as long as nacho communicates with steam he had so many sales on itch.io. He should have been able to send keys out for each user. HOWEVER maybe steam decline him. I don't know the full situation. It just seems from what nacho has posted that he seemed to have put the minimum effort into communicating with steam.

No one is complaining they have to spend $3. They're complaining they have to re-buy the game in the first place. Which is perfectly understandable. Even more so when the developer had been quoted in the past saying he would give a free steam key.

On top of that he's removed being able to get the game on itch.io. ON TOP of that the game doesn't work on mac. ON TOP OF THAT the developer claimed free updates for itch.io users indefinitely. To then release a new version of the game on steam and discontinue the itch.io version.

There is a lot of reasons to be upset with the decisions the developer has made. The fact people keep going "wah wah its only $3 why are you'all crying" is them  clearly not understanding why people are upset. It's not about the price. Its about the broken promises and other things i stated.

(+1)(-3)

The time and energy it takes anyone to complain vastly outweight the $3. Your post even more so.

(+2)(-1)

Hey man complaints is what makes a change. To just sit down and take it means any developer will have the same mindset. That's like saying "Never complain about league of legends, Apex legends, Counterstrike, etc..." because they're all free games. So any "complaints" are invalid because people are spending time complaining about a free game. It's just a strange mindset to have. The only validation is "bUt it'S onLy $3.". Whenever someone presents any valid reasoning to the issue it comes down to the money. Even though that's not the problem when complaining about free games are also valid.

(+1)

I'm complaining that they committed false advertising twice.

(+1)(-1)

still false advertising. doesn't matter if it's THREE dollars. they still committed a CRIME. How are people defending this?

(+4)(-1)

"crime"

Go touch grass. The dev made a game, promised something that they can't provide. If you think that's a crime, you're wrong in the head.

it is a crime. you can't promise something in a purchase then not deliver and then also not refund.

(+1)

no one has claimed an "incredible expense" though. That's simply been blown out of proportion by people who want to defend the practice of being forced to repurchase the game. It's not about the expense. The game was supposed to have free updates. The itch.io was left with no future updeated while a new updated version is now on steam. If the developer truly cared about his original developers and is only claiming he can't give the game for free on steam due to keys. Why not simply release the updated game for itch.io customers???? That's where all of this falls apart. Even buckshot roulette when releasing on steam still gave itch.io free updates of the game.

If he had given itch.io buyers the free update on itch then this would all make perfect sense. However he didn't. That's where this falls apart.

(+2)

Wait, what? I cant update it now? How is that fair

Hi. I would like to help you with the development, if you don't mind. I can translate the game into different languages and help with coding.

Well that sucks

I would like a refund too. I waned to play the update and I have to buy it again? Im not paying double.

(+4)(-2)

Hi I'd like a refund as well, my user is BitaH, I thought the remake would be more of an update to the game and would've still been available on the itch platform. I wouldn't have bought the game on here in the first place if I knew the remake was a separate thing available on steam.

(+2)(-2)

I would like a Refund My username is ITZEJR

(+4)(-3)

No refund is okay for me. This is a good game and the price for steam version is cheap. I will keep support this game on steam

(+5)(-6)

The game is like 3 bucks on Steam and all of you asking for a refund should be ashamed. People like you are why indie developers have a hard time.

(+2)(-4)

Honestly asking for knowledge: why are you asking for a refund on a game on this platform? Can't you buy it on a discount? I don't really know whats the issue here on asking for a refund or demanding a steam key for them buying it on here first.

Each platform is different. No store will give you the same game on different platforms. When I buy from Xbox I don't expect to have it for free or ask for a refund to buy it on Playstation. Same with Epic and Steam. All are separate stores. Purchases are not interchangeable.

Honestly asking, what is the issue? Was something promised or something else?

(+2)(-4)

I feel like the main reason is that some content creators said that the itch.io version was a "demo" when it wasn't, and people start to thinking that they paid for an incomplete version of the game.

And no matter how many times I explained that the itch version was a complete game and the steam release is another game they don't understand.

I am gratefull to see that there are people who genually understand it, thank you!

(+1)(-3)

Is the same woth stores on consoles you have to buy it everytime you want it on another console. I think it was posted that the steam was going to be another version from the ground up and itch.io the original one.

I do enjoy the game but after many hours on the og one I have to get used to the new stuff on this one. When I miss using the treinta y tres doce I use the og one.

Great game!!

Genuine question, if they're two different games, why make this one unavailable for purchase? I only just learned about it from watching a streamer play it and it seems like people feel the itch.io version had a lot more depth. I'd be very curious to try the original but if folks are just learning about it, we've just missed the boat I guess?

(2 edits) (+4)

Well, first of all, yeah actually it looks like the steam version was promised for free.

But I understand that the creator was not able to give out the key to everyone

Which is why people are asking for a refund because the key was promised and now because that is no longer true people want their money back.                                                      Plus considering not everyone can get a refund it actually is unfair.

While I understand the creator has said that they're basically different games. They do not seem that way to a lot of people. Yes there are differences between both, GUI wise, Feature wise, and more, but they're both being called by the same name which is why a lot of people are going to be thinking they're the same game.

Not only that but the creator claiming that the itch.io is a complete version but then also making impossible to buy it here doesn't make sense.

If this version is a different game then why isn't it available anymore but the steam version is?

I get it's not the dev's fault. But they made promises they couldn't keep. That's on them completely, they scammed their community twice.

(+3)(-1)

I also want a refund if it is possible, thank you. My username is The Psychopath

I can't really remember when I bought the game but it was a year ago so possibly march, may I got a refund? My username is Beezified. Thanks
