I'm gonna be honest. It feels so genuinely disappointing to not be able to play the full release of a game I spent money on here. It's super upsetting especially to people like me who rarely have a chance to spend money on games. Everything I own is fully thanks to sales. I feel so upset and disappointed for paying for whats just a glorified demo. I understand the keys are limited but still feels disappointing. You could've just updated the page and added the full release here and change the price to match the Steam one. That way those who already bought the game can still have access. I feel so upset that this is how it is. I've never seen a developer do this. And it's incredibly disappointing.
I agree, I saw on steam they had released it and I wanted to play it again. Sadly they removed it, as someone who rarely has money to put into games, especially at the time a short game, this is very upsetting and a let down to the community.
The game on steam is another game, you bought the game on itch that has all the updates that were done, the steam version is not am update, is a complete new game.
bought it for the second time but on Steam, keep up the hard work :D EDIT: The steam version is not what I expected and could use a lot more love, the Itch.io version was way better and it breaks my heart to have to say that. i loved this game but it doesn't feel the same with the steam version. Please bring back character descriptions. There's other things I miss or would recommend fixing but I really feel like that one thing could rectify a lot of my issues with the new version.
I don't mind buying it one more time. The only question is, will we get a special gift inside the game ( like a poster on the wall) as for someone who bought the game before steam release?
If I can figure it out how to do it in a way that only the people who bought the game get it, then yeah, I will look if I can do that, but I want to do something more in adition because even if this sounds great I feel is kinda very little.
having the demo behind a paywall and then not giving the full game to people who supported it originally is kind of crazy. it is the same game and trying to justify it by saying it's a different game is weird, either the demo should've never been behind a paywall or people who already paid should have access to the update
However, I see no point in releasing the game on Steam when you can just update the game here and make the Steam release as well. $3 is expensive where I live and I don't want to buy the game again just because the Steam release is just a separate version from this one. Good on you if anyone wishes to buy the game once more but I don't think I can invest my money into this game. Just because the Steam version has been given a discount, it doesn't ignore the fact that anyone who had bought the game here should be given the Steam version for free. I know game development can be expensive but I just think that by doing this, it's just so scummy.
The steam version is just a worse version of the game. There are a handful of quality of life changes like being able to mark people off on the entry list. However there are so many small things changed for seemingly no reason. Revert these changes and just make the steam version the Itch.io version. There is no reason for all these changes and it's mind boggling why they were even done???
Also itch.io buyers should get a free steam key. What is this new trend of throwing original supporters under the bus by making them buy the game a second time on steam. They're literally your original supporters and are the reason you were able to continue development on the game. They should get a free steam key.
I bought the game a second time because I didn't mind supporting it. However seeing that the steam version has so many unnecessary dumb changes that make the game worse. I should have really just refunded it. I don't want to support the game going backwards in improvements.
Edit: As mean as it sounds. I recommend going over to steam if you're one of the people who didn't get a free code and downvoting it. I'm not a big fan of review bombing but at the end of the day it's the only real way you have a voice. Mass downvotes will cause the developer to take action. Best way to go about it really.
I paid $3 for this game on itch cus i enjoyed watching people play it and wanted to support the creator, now i have to buy it again for the updated version? No steam key, no refund, nothing. I honestly dont think its very fair that we cant play a game we bought now.
same bro I have been trying to figure out how to update it for a long time until I just accepted the fact that you have to buy it again just to update it.
Is it me or the open door button closes door automatically? Why the red button is there for? Also does the doppelganger hand from behind doesn't appear anymore at end of bad rounds?
So, do we get steam keys for the download or what? I bought this version pretty much when that game first came out and at this time the steam and itch versions where identical with no visible difference in gameplay. Is this fair?
I understand that the newer version of this game has several changes and more gameplay, but I think it's a bit unfair that we have to buy the game again if we want the updated version of it, all because you decided to switch the platform you distributed on. Not only that, but the updated version isn't even available for those on MAC so anyone who doesn't have a Windows or Steam console can't progress any further with this game. I understand wanting to expand your market, especially after a game becomes popular, but to just up and leave the original community that gave you the purchases and downloads needed isn't painting a good picture.
im very confused. why have people who already bought this game not been given a steam key for full release? expecting us to pay a 2nd time for the full version is definitely a decision.
edit: i retract this statement, i did not realise the steam release was basically an entire new game that is well worth the purchase.
It's not really an "entirely new game". It's just been reworked to look different. The main additional things that would have taken time to implement is the custom character creation. Other than that the game is still essentially the same and would not have taken a long time at all to re-work. Should be free for Itch.io buyers.
Hello! Great game, congrats on steam release, I wanted to leave a few suggestions here for that version bc idk how to on steam haha
Make it so you can also ask neighbours on the phone about hats/bracelets, etc
Maybe make it less common for people to forget documents. This gets a bit repetitive after a while.
Add a little X at the top of things you can open (today's list, id, entry request, etc) to close it.
Make it so the buttons to let someone in or not are always on the table and can only be pressed once you complete the checklist.
Make it so ID cards/entry requests etc don't snap to the center of the mouse and you can move them around freely
Decrease the sensitivity of the phone.
Also found a few bugs: You can press other things while having one pop up on your screen and phone numbers just stay on the phone when the dial is moving
Note some of these may have been fixed/changed as I haven't played since yesterday lol
hey, is this game will be updated/downloadable someday in this website since most have bought it here? or do we have to buy the game on steam now? if not then will the people who bought this will get a steam key?
Hello nacho-sama! First of all the UI is waaaay better than the one you had in the most recent itch release and the files are a lot more structured (had to give you some praise ngl, you did so well during the years).
I've got some constructive feedback hopefully: when dragging documents, it seems that the cursor snaps to the middle of the screen in some instances. It would add to the fluidity of surfing through docs and files if you could just drag them without any snapping.
Hope this helps and keep up the good work. Well done man and congrats on the steam release!
I bought here the original game last year in the version 1.2.0.2 and I don't want to buy it again to have the newest version, can I actualizate it of any form?
When you buy it, you're supposed to link your purchase to your account instantly. I bought it (and own it) but for some reason they don't want to give us the latest steam version of the game despite the fact that we payed the same price as the game on steam, and we payed for the full game
heya, not the dev here but i think they said on instagram they really tried to make a mac build but there's just too many incompatibilities, sorry :( but if you think you'd know your way around it, you could always try installing linux (on a spare machine or just as a virtual machine) and either running the linux build, or running the windows build on linux through proton
Yes, because the game it is going to be release with 40% discount for 7 days, and for everyone that is asking how much it cost, well without the discount it is the same price as it was here (It can be less because the prices are localized) so with the discount it is going to be cheaper.
So no then? If the discount is for everyone, then the ones who already bought the game and supported you are expected to not only pay for the game again, but at the same price as those who didn't buy it before.
Not exactly the best way to show appreciation for the support, makes saying thanks nothing but hollow words
The steam game is not exactly the same game, plus everything except some art was done from scratch. I'd rather people who didn't buy this version get the game for cheaper than people who did buy this version having to pay more. My game is and always has been very cheap even I added additional content completely free and it still doesn't seem to be enough, this new version is superior in many ways and contains a new game mode that was very hard to get working, I worked a lot for it and I don't think I'm asking for much in return, on the contrary I'm asking for too little to be fair.
What you have described is exactly the premise of buying a game that is in development or early access. You wouldn't buy an early access title on Steam, expecting to then pay again when it is fully released, would you?
As a real life example, I present you Wayfinders. A game that came out in paid early access as a shared space mmorpg (think Destiny or Diablo 4) that was an always online title slated to have battle passes, seasons, etc, as a live service title. The game developers didn't like the way the game was going and broke away from their publisher and completely remade the game again, removing all the live service and always online parts, and rebalancing and reworking everything. They even had to remove it from Steam for roughly a year. When it came back, in your terms, it woas "not exactly the same game". It was even renamed to Wayfinder Echoes. Even after all that, the ones who bought it before didn't have to pay another cent, and even got extra bonuses in game such as an early character unlock and boosted currency, all for supporting them throughout. That is what gratitude looks like
I'm not saying you have to do anything that big, but asking people who have bnought the game already to buy it again just because you putr more development into a game that was in development is a bit of a low blow and a middle finger to those who have paid, regardless of how much they paid.
No you are wrong, the difference here is that my game have never been in early access, the game here was completed, I just added more stuff (dlc)
On steam I am selling a remake.
The issue you have is that you keep thinking that I am selling the same piece of software but no, the game on itch is finished and I am selling another one.
And besides that, itch and steam are different platforms I if I buy a game on steam I don't have the access to it on ps, xbox, epic store too or even here on itch, I only have it on steam and it is the same for the others.
Stop acting like you are OWED anything more just for owning the game here on itch. You created your account less than 10 days ago, so don't even act like you've helped or supported anything.
You're acting entitled for nothing and it's really embarrassing.
Gj! I loved your game and i wait to get it on steam. However, i a bit scared of the visual of the door button. In the trailler it look like a power point slide while the rest of the rework is great (like the files or the phone! :D )
Thank you! Maybe it is because of the animation I choose for the door button, I try to emulate a 3D effect but since everything is 2D it seems a little bit off

Well I wouldn't mind if it wasn't the fact that the "new game" is a complete downgrade to this.
plzzzz make the game available for MacBooks
I'd love to play the steam version if the macOS version is out !! my windows laptop is very old :[
Why? Why? Why? Why remove this version of the game after charging for it?
You can access the game from the library if you bought it last year.
bought it for the second time but on Steam, keep up the hard work :D

I mean it's only about 2 dollars
Plus the creator said many times he can only give 100 steam keys for free
Is there gonna be a version for mac? I paid for the game here too I'm so confused

Wait, we need to pay again?
wth is this i paid for the game and cant even play it
seems the itchio version is different from steam release. So if you want steam release one, you gotta buy it there
Bruh where is my code for steam when I did buy this game here...
bruh we have to buy the game again?
I mean it's only 2 dollars
Hello!

Hey ! I bought this game, is it possible to obtain a steam key, or at least the updated version pls ?
why i can't download the latest version of the game?

Ohh no sabia. No se exactamente todo lo que tiene nuevo! Gracias.
Y menos mal que hay hispanohablantes aquí.
I bought here the original game last year in the version 1.2.0.2 and I don't want to buy it again to have the newest version, can I actualizate it of any form?

I sent a steam gift to a streamer I know, she played it today before streaming another scheduled game, and they loved the game! It was today's stream!
https://www.twitch.tv/tizfizzy
There's also other people buying it from the stream!
Great game thank you!
hi, the game was released on Steam less than an hour ago, I want to ask if the macOS version will be added there? If so, when?
heya, not the dev here but i think they said on instagram they really tried to make a mac build but there's just too many incompatibilities, sorry :( but if you think you'd know your way around it, you could always try installing linux (on a spare machine or just as a virtual machine) and either running the linux build, or running the windows build on linux through proton
You know there's another game of this in snokiddo..
Made a video on That's not my Neighbor
