if that does happen maybe uninstall it and run it again if it still shows the black screen again check on the device your playing on you can easily see the details of it by typing dxdiag in the search bar on windows and it shows the type of processors the computer runs then go online and see the system information for this game and compare both if the device is outdated or on a lack of updates the game wouldn't run clean and as smooth as you see on youtube on any platform where you found this game.

Love this game so much, it's so chill like when I wanna play smth but I'm too bored to play smth like Overwatch or whatever so I play this game instead. I've created a whole new character for myself and I like it so much. Can't wait for new updates

You're talking about the other website that lets you 'get around' paying for the game? Not sure why you'd think the official creators would be able to help you with another group.
Otherwise, try a fresh download/install and maybe clear your internet cache/etc.

Me to
redownload the game! If you have already paid there is no need to pay again. It worked for me, however only the redownloaded version will have nightmare mode. This also will not reset anything, as you will still have any previous progress made on the older version.
